The farmers’ story helps to maintain the bottom line

“We’ve got a role to play to help educate the public,” said Paul Schickler,

president of Pioneer Hi-Bred, the advanced seed genetics business of DuPont. Those who produce food think of the value of agriculture not only in the food produced, but also in the economy that farmers drive and the exports that are part of the farmer’s business, but the vast majority of the population has no connection to what farmers do, Schickler told Brownfield.

“We’ve got an obligation to help get that story out so that the view is transparent on us and over time we create a better appreciation for the contributions that agriculture makes to the United States,” he said.
