Making hay while the sun shines

For Neall Weber of Weber Farms near Hillard, Ohio, the conditions are finally right for making hay, in fact when I talked with Neall this morning they were getting ready to mow.

“We just need weather like we’re having at this moment, which is some sunshine, some wind, fairly low humidity,” said Weber. “The temperature’s not really where we want it, but for this time of year you really can’t be too particular about temperature.”

Depending on the weather, Neall says they typically get 3, maybe 4 cuttings, annually.
