Continuing to focus on agriculture

Agriculture plays a vital role in Indiana’s economy.  Over the past eight years, Lt. Governor Becky Skillman has been a champion for the agriculture industry.  Republican candidate for Lt. Governor, Sue Ellspermann, says she hopes to continue that. 

At last week’s Master Farmer program, Ellspermann told Brownfield the agriculture industry is on the right track.  “One of our challenges is to communicate the good work that is being done in agriculture and how important it is to our economy,” she says.  “I think as the Secretary of Agriculture that is certainly one of my priorities.” 

Ellspermann says it is also vital to emphasize the importance of rural communities to Indiana.
