What’s next for BPI and LFTB?

In an exclusive interview with Brownfield, three top executives of Beef Products Inc. (BPI) discussed what’s next for their company and their lean finely textured beef (LFTB) product.

The interview took place on September 14, the day after BPI announced that it was filing a defamation lawsuit against ABC News.  The lawsuit alleges that the television network misled consumers to believe LFTB is unhealthy and unsafe.

Participating in the interview with Brownfield were BPI’s corporate administrator Rich Jochum; director of food safety and quality assurance Craig Letch; and director of engineering Nick Roth.  The three men discussed BPI’s efforts to rebuild the market for LFTB and whether they are considering changes to their production process as a result of the negative publicity generated by the misleading  media reports.
