Cargill to expand Missouri meat plant

Cargill is going to expand its case-ready facility in Marshall, Missouri. The meat packer will spend $15.8 million and add 50 employees for a new production line of ready-to-cook beef, pork and chicken items.

This is one of six Cargill case-ready plants in North America including three in the United States. The others are at Newnan, Georgia and Hazelton, Pennsylvania. Cargill spokesman Mike Martin says “More and more of our customers are asking for more and more of these types of products.”

Cargill opened the Marshall plant in 1995.
