Ohio State Fair Pork Rib-Off
The 17th annual Ohio State Fair Pork Rib-Off was held on Tuesday, August 6.
The big winners at the 2013 Rib-Off was Smoke‘em if you Got’em BBQ from Middleport, Ohio who had the Grand Champion Ribs, this was their second year to compete at the Ohio State Fair.

In the pulled pork division, Wally’s Great American BBQ at Tiffin was named Grand Champion.
“A lot of guys asked if we were gonna win this year,” said Wally Snow of Wally’s Great American BBQ. “I tell’em anybody could win this thing, there are a lot of great barbecuers out there, the guy next to us that won the ribs, we were watching him and he just put a lot of tender loving care in them and came out on top.”

Tony’s Restaurant at Findlay won the People’s Choice Award.
First time competitor, Shawn Surber of Leesburg, Ohio says not only was he excited to compete, but what he was able to learn from the experience.
“Not only from the competitors, but mainly the crowd,” Surber said. “When you get their opinion on what they like that really makes a big difference.”
