The Garden Spot of the Corn Belt

Ashville, Ohio farmer Allen Ett says they were in a garden spot this summer.  He says they had timely rains and the weather was never bad.

Because of that – he says they changed their game plan a little this summer when it came to soybeans.  “We put fungicide on about 2/3 of our soybeans, which is not what we typically do,” he says.  “We did that as a precaution.  We had plenty of moisture and thought ‘let’s foliar feed these guys’ and that’s what we did.”

Other than that, Ett says they haven’t seen too much trouble disease wise in soybeans.
