Pioneer corn facility in Iowa celebrates 75 years

The DuPont Pioneer corn production facility in Algona is celebrating 75 years of seed corn production in north-central Iowa.

As part of the celebration, the company will hold an open house at the Algona facility this Monday, September 16th.   It will include lunch and tours of the plant.

The manager of the plant, Brian Bormann, says Algona is the oldest Pioneer production location still on its original site. We recently visited with Bormann about the plant and how seed corn conditioning, processing and handling has changed over the years.
