CHS buying Illinois ethanol plant

CHS has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the stock of Sinav (se NAHV) Limited of London, England. The deal includes Sinav’s Illinois River Energy ethanol plant at Rochelle, Illinois.

The 133-million-gallon-per-year plant began operations in 2006. Most of the ethanol produced at the plant is marketed through CHS’ Cenex retail outlets.

Sinav acquired the plant in January of 2012 when it bought GTL Resources. After making a number of improvements, it put the facility up for sale last January.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The purchase is expected to close in June.
