Timing is everything for Nebraska farmer

You couldn’t plan it much better if you tried.

Ed Lammers of Hartington, Nebraska wrapped up the 2014 planting season at one o’clock Sunday morning and proceeded to receive over an inch of rain on his fields.

“I got an inch and a quarter here through Sunday evening and Monday,” Lammers says. “So that was perfect—that’s basically what the doctor orders.”

And now, Lammers says, it just needs to warm up.

“The ground’s a little cold and they’re talking a little cold weather—but overall, if it warms up, we’ll be in great shape.”

Lammers started planting corn on April 20th.  He says that corn is up and growing.
