Hearing on EPA’s water rule had some heated exchanges

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment held a hearing Wednesday on the “Potential Impacts of Proposed Changes to the Clean Water Act Jurisdictional Rule”.

The hearing featured some rather testy exchanges between committee members, EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe and Jo-Ellen Darcy, assistant secretary of the Army Corps of Engineers for civil works.

Representative Rick Crawford of Arkansas quizzed the witnesses over the definitions of “ditch” and “flooding”.
