Morocco accepts U.S. ag export certificate

CIMG0736

USDA Ag Marketing Service says Morocco has accepted the proposed dairy export certificate without further revision, concluding more than three years of negotiations.  Morocco had asked for some changes in the information available on the certificate back in 2011. A stopgap certificate allowed exports to continue to the country but not without some delays and detainments.

The new certificate provides information on animal health, additives, microbiological criteria and thermal treatment processes. Morocco imports $126 million in U.S. agricultural products annually including butter, cheese and skim milk powder.  The certificate’s acceptance means this important market will remain open to U.S. exports, paving the way for an even better year for the U.S. dairy industry.
