Ohio Sheep Day provides ideas

JimPercival_Schoolhouse ShropshiresThe host of the 2015 Ohio Sheep Day hopes producers who attended Saturday’s event found something that will improve their sheep operation.

“You hope there are two or three things that stick with somebody that they can take home and implement on their farm that will make them more efficient and effective,” said Sheep Day host Jim Percival.

Percival tells Brownfield you’ll find a number of things in his operation he picked up at sheep day events over the years.

“A lot of the fencing you see around here came from a Sheep Day a few years ago and how folks go about the fencing, our pasture rotation techniques we use came from Sheep Days,” Percival said. “I always learn something, even if it’s just something small, but I always learn something.”

Jim and his wife Denise own Schoolhouse Shropshires near Xenia.
