BASF sees success with Engenia herbicide

Weed resistance continues to be an expanding problem.  Having effective and alternative sites of action is a critical need to manage that weed resistance.”

Chad Asmus, Technical Marketing Manager with BASF tells Brownfield that growers who were able to use Engenia herbicide on dicamba-tolerant acres as part of an overall weed management system experienced excellent weed control and clean fields again this year.

Asmus said there have been a lot of new Engenia users.  BASF trained over 26,000 new applicators during this growing season.  He tells Brownfield understanding the why behind the how has been an important part of the training.

“BASF is committed to the stewardship and the ongoing training will continue to provide those resources.”

Asmus tells Brownfield BASF will continue to work with the states so those who choose to plant the technology and those who choose not to plant the technology all have successful, positive results in the future.
