Corn farmers called to comment on RFS
Corn farmers are giving one last push voicing their concerns with the EPA to follow through on its commitment to the Renewable Fuel Standard.
Michigan Corn Growers Association president Matt Frostic tells Brownfield small refinery exemptions have ripple effects to farmers and rural communities.
“That affects the economy, our local economy, and our state economy directly whereas when you get into more of a corporate level, it’s not near the same.”
He says if farmers have submitted comments in the past, they can do it again.
“Every little bit that we can use and supply of corn is important not only to the farm but also to the industries throughout the state.”
Farmers have until November 29 to tell the EPA how the current RFS for 2020 will affect them and can find more details at NCGA.com.
