Young jockey killed in New Zealand race

A routine weekend horse race in New Zealand turned deadly for an apprentice jockey that was killed in a fall. Sixteen year old Sam McRae became tangled in a stirrup during the fall, and was dragged to death by his horse as another rider desperately tried to free him. Reports indicate that McRae died of head and chest injuries in what seasoned racers are calling a freak accident.
