CME milk, cash dairy steady to higher after Christmas break

Milk futures and the cash dairy markets were steady to higher Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

January Class III milk was up $0.11 at $15.54.  February was up $0.13 at $15.73.  March was up $0.09 at $16.36.  April was up $0.01 at $17.22.  May through November contracts ranged from unchanged in May and September to thirteen cents higher in October. 

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.38.  No sales were recorded. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.39.  Fourteen sales were recorded, ranging from $1.3850 to $1.40. 

Cheese barrels were up $0.0325 at $1.4250.  Eight sales were recorded, ranging from $1.40 to $1.44. 

Butter was up $0.0025 at $2.5425.  No sales were recorded. 

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.16.  One sale was recorded at $1.1575.
