CME milk futures, cash dairy mixed at year’s end

Milk futures were higher in the near months and the cash dairy markets were mixed Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

January Class III milk was up $0.03 at $15.43.  February was up $0.05 at $15.74.  March was up $0.06 at $16.41.  April was down $0.02 at $17.14.  May through November contracts ranged from unchanged in November to sixteen cents lower in October. 

Dry whey was unchanged for a second straight day at $0.3850.  No sales were recorded. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were up $0.04 at $1.47.  Eight sales were recorded, ranging from $1.43 to $1.47. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.03 at $1.40.  Ten sales were recorded, ranging from $1.40 to $1.42. 

Butter was up $0.0050 at $2.6650.  Two sales were recorded at $2.66 and $2.6650. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0050 at $1.17.  Two sales were recorded at $1.1675 and $1.17.
