CME milk futures higher in near term, cash dairy up Wednesday

Milk futures and the cash dairy markets were higher except for butter Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

December Class III milk was up $0.01 at $16.33.  January was up $0.19 at $16.99.  February was up $0.21 at $17.23.  March was up $0.17 at $17.75.  April through November contracts ranged from ten cents lower in October to two cents higher in April.  After April, only June saw a price increase Wednesday. 

Dry whey was up $0.0025 at $0.4025.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were up $0.0350 at $1.6350.  Three sales were recorded, ranging from $1.63 to $1.6350. 

Cheese barrels were up $0.01 at $1.61.  No sales were recorded. 

Butter was unchanged at $2.67.  No sales were recorded. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0150 at $1.18.  One sale was recorded at that price.
