CME milk futures lower, cash dairy mixed Thursday

Milk futures were lower and the cash dairy markets were mixed in light trading volume Thursday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

January Class III milk was down $0.29 at $15.40.  February was down $0.20 at $15.69.  March was down $0.12 at $16.35.  April was down $0.09 at $17.16.  May through November contracts ranged from seven cents lower in May to five cents higher in June. 

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.3850.  No sales were recorded. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were up $0.0150 at $1.43.  Six sales were recorded, ranging from $1.4150to $1.4325. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.04 at $1.43.  Fourteen sales were recorded, ranging from $1.43 to $1.45. 

Butter was up $0.0375 at $2.66.  Two sales were recorded at $2.65 and $2.66. 

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.1650.  No sales were recorded.
