CME milk futures lower, cash dairy mixed Tuesday

Milk futures were lower and the cash dairy markets were mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

April Class III milk was down $0.12 at $15.55.  May was down $0.09 at $16.66.  June was down $0.14 at $17.25.  July was down $0.07 at $17.80.  

August through November contracts ranged from six cents lower in November to twenty-four cents lower in August.   

Dry whey was down $0.0125 at $0.3675.  Three sales were recorded, ranging from $0.3675 to $0.3725. 

Blocks closed the trading day with higher value than barrels. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were up $0.02 at $1.57.  Ten sales were recorded, ranging from $1.5675 to $1.5775. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0050 at $1.5625.  Three sales were recorded, ranging from $1.5575 and $1.57. 

Butter was unchanged at $2.97.  No sales were recorded. 

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0025 at $1.1350.   Three sales were recorded, ranging from $1.1350 to $1.14.
