CME milk futures lower, cash dairy steady Monday

Milk futures were lower and the cash dairy markets were mostly steady with light trading Monday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

September Class III milk was down $0.07 at $18.87.  October was down $0.01 at $18.64. November was down $0.08 at $18.25.  December was down $0.12 at $18.22.  January through July contracts ranged from twelve cents lower in March to ten cents higher in January.  

Dry whey was up $0.0050 at $0.2850.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

The cheese market was inactive, as forty-pound cheese blocks remained unchanged at $1.9450 and cheese barrels remained unchanged at $1.80.  No cheese sales were recorded. 

Butter was unchanged at $2.67. After a Twenty-sale Friday, no sales were recorded Monday. 

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.1050. Four sales were recorded, ranging from $1.1025 to $1.1050.
