Export inspections within estimates

USDA reports corn, soybean, and wheat export inspections for the week ending June 5 were within pre-report estimates. The 2014/15 marketing year for wheat started June 1.

Wheat came out at 518,866 tons, down 14,305 from the week ending May 29 and 157,189 lower than the week ending June 6, 2013. Early in the 2014/15 marketing year, wheat inspections are 354,482 tons, compared to 550,177 at the outset of 2013/14.

Corn was reported at 1,147,968 tons, up 167,915 from the previous week and 985,399 higher than this time last year. Entering the last quarter of the 2013/14 marketing year, corn inspections are 34,824,911 tons, compared to 13,887,191 in 2012/13.

Soybeans were pegged at 123,115 tons, 36,163 less than the prior week, but 27,314 more than last year. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 42,243,371 tons, compared to 34,599,907 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 67,461 tons. That’s a decrease of 50,793 tons on the week, but an increase of 63,388 on the year. 2013/14 sorghum inspections are 3,490,196 tons, compared to 1,446,883 in 2012/13.
