Milk futures mostly higher, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed mostly higher Thursday with traders finding more upside potential.

September Class III milk up five cents at $18.40. October four cents higher at $18.25. November down two cents at $18.33. December three cents higher at $18.40. January through March contracts unchanged to nine cents higher.

Dry whey down $0.0075 at $0.2925. One sale was made at that price.

Blocks up $0.01 at $1.92. Four trades were made at $1.87 and $1.92.

Barrels unchanged at $1.82. Two sales were made at $1.8150 and $1.82.

Butter down $0.03 at $2.7425. Fourteen sales were made from $2.7375 to $2.7825.

Nonfat dry milk up $0.0050 at $1.1150.
