1% of Illinois corn planted

Illinois farmers have started planting corn.

The USDA says there were 2.5 days suitable for field work last week with 1% of corn being planted, in line with the five-year average.

The winter wheat crop is rated 64% good to excellent, compared to 51% last year.

Sixty-percent of the state’s pastures are in good to excellent shape.
