2026 ethanol, DDGS exports both 13% ahead of 2025

U.S. ethanol exports remain on a record pace more than halfway through 2026.

The Renewable Fuels Association says ethanol exports during July were down 3% from June at 199.5 million gallons, while the year-to-date pace is 13% faster than 2025’s all-time high at 1.41 billion gallons.

Canada was the top destination again in July, taking in nearly 40% of the month’s shipments, followed by the European Union, mainly the Netherlands, and Vietnam.

Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles were essentially unchanged on the month at 1.1 million tons, primarily to Mexico, Indonesia, and South Korea, with 2026 DDGS exports also 13% ahead of 2025.

Ethanol exports are largely driven by rising global demand for low carbon fuels, while DDGS exports reflect increasing livestock feed demand.
