7% of Indiana corn and soybeans harvested

The USDA says dry conditions last week helped propel harvest progress in Indiana.

Seven percent of the state’s corn and soybeans have been harvested, both ahead of last year’s pace but just shy of the five-year average.

Ninety-three percent of corn has dented and 51% of the crop is mature. Sixty-four percent of soybeans are dropping leaves.

USDA says 6% of Indiana’s winter wheat crop has been planted, near the five-year average of 7%.
