82% of corn and 80% of soybeans in South Dakota called good to excellent

The condition of corn in South Dakota improved slightly last week.

In its latest crop progress report, the USDA says 82 percent is rated good to excellent, up two percent on the week.

Soybeans rated good to excellent remained at 80 percent.

Winter wheat ratings jumped several points to 74 percent good to excellent, with 68 percent of spring wheat in that category.

Oat development is ahead of normal at 91 percent headed.  Seventy percent is rated good to excellent.
