9% of Ohio corn, 21% of soybeans harvested

Dry conditions allowed farmers in Ohio to harvest corn and soybeans and plant wheat last week.

The USDA reports that nine percent of corn is harvested. Sixty-three percent of the crop is mature, and 48 percent is rated good to excellent.

Soybeans are 21 percent harvested. Eighty-five percent of the crop is dropping leaves and 53 percent is rated good to excellent.

Thirty-two percent the winter wheat crop is planted, and three percent is emerged.
