93rd SDSU Little ‘I’ begins April 1

SDSU Little I Show Ring PhotoThe 93rd Little International, one of the nation’s largest student-run livestock contests, takes place on the campus of South Dakota State University, Brookings, on Friday and Saturday, April 1-2.

The event includes hundreds of South Dakota and Minnesota high school students joining college students competing in judging contests.  In addition, Friday’s events include showmanship and fitting competitions, as well as displays.

Saturday’s events feature horse showmanship and conclude with an awards ceremony followed by a dance at the Swiftel Center in Brookings.

Little ‘I’ is managed by a volunteer staff of more than 100 SDSU students led by Adam Krause, a senior Agribusiness major from Clear Lake, South Dakota.  New to this year’s Little ‘I’ is a SDSU College of Agriculture & Biological Sciences Alumni Reception from 3 to 5:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Animal Science building on Saturday, April 2.
