97% of Indiana corn, 92% of soybeans planted

The USDA says hot temperatures did little to hinder planting progress last week in Indiana.

According to the latest crop progress and condition report, 97 percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, and 88 percent has emerged. Seventy-three percent of corn is in good to excellent condition.

Ninety-two percent of soybeans in Indiana are planted, and 78 percent of the crop has emerged. Seventy-four percent of soybeans are in good to excellent condition.  

Seventy-five percent of winter wheat is rated good to excellent.
