Ample propane supplies going into harvest

A robust supply of propane is easing concerns of price volatility going into harvest.

Dallas Engel is a Cenex propane account manager in Minnesota.

“As far as the supply chain, we have no real concerns right now.”

He tells Brownfield the propane industry has invested in shoring up supplies in anticipation of high demand this fall.

Engel is also confident a south to north harvest progression will help prevent a bottleneck.

“And I think we’re starting to see a little bit of that with harvest starting in Illinois right now. Southern Iowa is starting to get going (and) we’re seeing activity in Kansas as well.”

He says propane prices the next couple months will probably fluctuate in the pennies, not nickels and dimes.
