Anthem contest ‘the coolest thing I’ve ever done’

A young lady from Fayette, Ohio is the winner in FMC’s “Stand & Be Heard Anthem Singing Contest.” After online voting, a judges’ panel review and delivering a nationally-televised performance of the National Anthem, Noelle Goodson won a $10,000 scholarship grand prize from FMC Agricultural Solutions.

Goodson, a freshman at Cornerstone University in Michigan, called the experience “the coolest thing I’ve ever done.”

She’s been involved in FFA since the eighth grade and was chapter president this past year. She’s sung the National Anthem for sporting events throughout high school, including at a State Basketball Championship game at The Ohio State University. In August, Goodson was among four finalists recording the anthem with a Nashville music producer and studio musicians.

Goodson’s original video entry was among more than 220 received from agricultural education students in 31 states in the second year of the FMC “Stand & Be Heard Anthem Singing Contest.”

Goodson is reportedly undecided about a college major, but following the contest experience, she’s considering music.
