Checkoff hosts dairy nutrition conference

Health and wellness experts showcased the nutritional benefits of dairy products to a worldwide audience.

Scott Walin with Dairy Management, Inc. says more than 100 national and international health and wellness experts participated in the seminar called, “Undercover Nutrition: A Symposium Decrypting Food and Dairy Matrix Science.”

The experts reviewed the state of the science on the food matrix with a deep dive on the latest dairy evidence, including related to why the fat in dairy foods behaves differently, resulting in neutral to beneficial links to reducing risk for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure.

More than 100 doctors and scientists participated, and left with additional perspectives about how dairy’s potential can help people establish healthy eating patterns and improved health.

The symposium was held February 21st and 22nd in Washington D.C. and was funded by the dairy checkoff.
