Cold and wet Michigan harvest

Hard frosts have ended most plant growth in Michigan while harvest continues.

The USDA says corn is now 46 percent harvested and still ahead of last year and the five-year average.  Soybeans are 65 percent harvested, behind last year and average.  USDA says grain is being harvested at 21 percent moisture while soybeans are at 15 percent.

Dry beans are 92 percent harvested and sugarbeet harvest is 58 percent complete.

Apple harvest is winding down and wine grape harvest is complete.
