Congressional Crop Insurance Caucus hosts first briefing

The Congressional Crop Insurance Caucus was officially launched Thursday during the first briefing led by Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos and Pennsylvania Congressman GT Thompson.

Illinois soybean farmer and American Soybean Association board member Ron Moore spoke about the importance of crop insurance for producers during the briefing.

Nine other Representatives have joined the caucus including:  Cindy Anxe and Dave Loebsack of Iowa, Mike Bost and Rodney Davis of Illinois and Angie Craig of Minnesota.

The goal of the bipartisan caucus is to educate Members of Congress about the importance of a strong farm safety net and the agriculture economy.
