Dream comes true for 70th Princess Kay of the Milky Way

A long-time dream came true for Minnesota’s top dairy ambassador on the eve of the State Fair.

Emma Kuball of Waterville was crowned the 70th Princess Kay of the Milky Way Wednesday night and says it was an amazing experience.

“It was kind of a blur but it was definitely a dream come true for me. I’ve wanted to be Princess Kay since I was really little, so it’s just amazing that I’m here at the State Fair in Princess Kay’s crown and sash. It’s pretty surreal.”

As Princess Kay, Kuball tells Brownfield she’s looking forward to highlighting the important work of Minnesota’s more than 1,800 dairy farmers.

“How much the dairy industry loves our animals and our land, and how much we’re looking to preserve that for future generations to come.”

Throughout the next year, Kuball will make public appearances to help connect consumers to Minnesota’s dairy industry.

The 19-year-old attends the University of Wisconsin River Falls.
