Global dairy prices increase again

Global Dairy Trade Auction at Fonterra on Tuesday saw overall prices increase 4.9 percent compared to the July 2nd sale. This the third consecutive increase and the biggest increase since April 2nd. Two products saw lower prices, rennet casein was down 5 percent from the last sale and butter slipped 0.3 percent. On the plus-side: cheddar cheese increased 2.1 percent, skim milk powder was 3.3 percent higher, anhydrous milk fat was up 3.6 percent, butter milk powder was 4.8 percent higher and whole milk powder jumped 7.7 percent above the last auction. There were no sales of lactose or milk protein concentrate.
