Harvest activity in Illinois nears the finish

Programs ICON

This year’s corn and soybean harvests in Illinois are nearing the end. Temperatures last week averaged seven degrees above normal and rainfall was very close to average, aiding in activity.

83% of corn is harvested, compared to the five year average of 75%, and 76% of soybeans are harvested, compared to 77% typically this time of year.

68% of the winter wheat crop is planted and 38% has emerged.

70% of the Illinois’ pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent condition and most of the state has adequate soil moisture.
