HPAI detected in Oakland County

The Michigan Department of Agriculture says another case of highly pathogenic avian influenza has been confirmed in a backyard poultry flock.

A 40-bird mixed-species flock in Oakland County has been found with the virus and has been depopulated.

The department says the risk for the disease remains high as cooler temperatures and damp conditions persist.
