ICMB announces internship opportunities

Want some experience in social media or videography? Then check out internship opportunities with the Illinois Corn Marketing Board (ICMB). Applications are due on June 17, 2013, for the fall internships listed below. Interviews will be held June 24-28, 2013, in Bloomington, Ill.

Social Media Internship

In this paid internship, students will be expected to maintain social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and blogs. At times, students may be required to develop unique and interesting concepts for these outlets in order to develop fan base, post interesting content, increase interactions, and perpetuate positive information about agriculture.

In most cases, content should be updated daily. IL Corn staff will send periodic writing prompts to facilitate the generation of content. Additional content will be the responsibility of the student based on web searches, information gained in college classes, or personal experiences. Students will also be required to maintain and analyze data on the growth of their readership, fan interactions, and other feedback.

Video Production Internship

Students will be provided with specific projects that could vary by semester or by month as new issues/needs arise. Success will be defined by completion of the projects within the given timeframe and by accomplishing the desired outcome for each individual video/project. A final report detailing the student’s activities, growth and insight over the course of the semester will conclude the internship.

The intership pays $12 per hour.
