Indiana Farm Bureau sets policy

Indiana Farm Bureau held its annual delegate session over the weekend.  IFB president Don Villwock says the session sets Indiana Farm Bureau policy for the next year.  “All of our state policies go into our state policy book that is handed out to our state legislators,” he says.  “Our lobbying team throughout the session then works to get as many of those policies implemented as they can.”

National policy was also discussed during the session.  “We forward the policies we pass in our delegate session to the American Farm Bureau and then we fight to make sure Indiana’s policies survive that policy process,” he says.  “Eventually they make their way into the AFBF Policy booklet which is distributed to Capitol Hill.”

Villwock tells Brownfield the delegate session and resolutions committee is part of what makes Farm Bureau such a strong grassroots organization.
