Indiana Senator pleased with EPA’s decision
Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly says he’s pleased the EPA has decided to move forward developing a new Waters of the US (WOTUS) rule.
Donnelly, a member of the Senate Ag Committee says as the EPA reworks the rule, it’s important they get it right. He says he’ll encourage the administration to develop a rule that is more workable for Hoosiers and is a collaborative effort with farmers, businesses, local governments, and environmental groups to ensure water is clean and safe.
The Senator has been working to repeal WOTUS for more than two years. In April 2015, Donnelly and Wyoming Senator John Barrasso introduced bipartisan legislation to require a rewrite of the rule. The Senate voted on the proposed bill, but it fell three votes short of advancing.
