Kansas corn planting slows as winter wheat conditions still ugly

High winds and drought slowed corn planting in Kansas last week.

The USDA says 6 percent of the crop is in, up 1 percent from the pervious week.

Winter wheat condition is 60 percent short-to-very short.

Topsoil moisture is rated 82 percent short-to-very short and subsoil moisture is rated 78 percent short-to-very short.
