Large gains on Michigan’s harvest
Michigan farmers made significant progress on harvest with unseasonably warm weather last week.
The Great Lakes Regional Ag Statistics office says 70 percent of the state’s corn crop was harvested for grain as of Sunday lagging the five year average by just three percent. Soybeans are 86 percent harvested. Winter wheat was 94 percent planted and 85 percent emerged.
Dry beans are 95 percent harvested. Sugarbeets are 85 percent harvested. The fourth cutting of alfalfa is 75 percent complete.
