Maximizing productivity on the farm

As pork producers look to maximize productivity, Dr. Dean Boyd with the Hanor Company says they should identify a few of the top profit drivers for their farms.

Once identified, Boyd says they need to put a strategic plan in place.  “They need to determine how much they believe is realistic to achieve,” he says.  “And then the mechanism by which they can get there.”

And he says, research is an important component to that.  “It’s best if the research strategies support the areas in which they are focusing, to solve the problems they are presently having,” he says.
