Medium CAFO workshops offered in Iowa
Iowa State University Extension will host three workshops next week for medium-size CAFO dairy and open feedlot operations.
The workshops are designed to help farmers understand current regulatory enforcement by EPA, the design criteria for manure control and NPDES permit requirements.
The workshops will be held Tuesday, the 29th, in Spencer; Wednesday, the 30th, in Sioux Center; and Thursday, the 31st, in Arcadia.
A registration fee will be charged to cover the cost of lunch and handout materials.
The Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers is a sponsor of the event and will be on hand to share information about the no-cost services and resources the coalition provides.
