Michigan 4-H Beyond Ready campaign tops 60% of $12 million goal

The Michigan 4-H Foundation says its $12 million capital campaign has surpassed the halfway mark.
Director Abbey Miller tells Brownfield, “We are over 60 percent to that goal already.”
“Through the Beyond Ready campaign, a large portion of that is focusing on our county endowment efforts,” she says.
She says the initiative strengthens support for hands-on learning, 4-H places to learn, emerging needs, and endowment investments.
“We are giving young people the skills, experiences, and relationships they need not just to face the future, but to help shape it,” she shares.
The Foundation manages more than 100 different endowments, including the Hal and Jean Glassen 4-H Shooting Sports Endowment.
“That supports our 4-H shooting sports training, that supports our shooting sports state award, our shooting sports education, and sending youth to our state shoots and our national competitions representing Michigan,” she explains.
Donations to the Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports Program over the next five years will be matched by the Hal and Jean Glassen Memorial Foundation, up to $10,000 annually.
Miller says the Beyond Ready campaign will soon include county matching challenges to double funding for local programs serving nearly 140,000 young people across Michigan.
Leaders announced the campaign’s progress in conjunction with National 4-H Week, October 4-10, 2026.
