Milk futures mostly lower, cash dairy mixed Tuesday

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Class III milk futures closed higher in the nearby contracts, and lower further out.

October milk gained four cents, closing at $15.94.  November down seven at $16.29.  The December contract was down six cents Tuesday at $16.13.  The January through March contracts were down four to seven cents.

In the cash trade, barrels were down $0.0350 at $1.3850.  Three trades ranging from $1.3850 to $1.4225.

Blocks were down $0.0375 at $1.71.  Six trades ranging from $1.69 to $1.74.

Butter closed up $0.0375 at $2.3350.  There were 14 loads, ranging from $2.2975 to $2.3350.

Dry weigh finished a cent higher at $0.56.

And nonfat dry milk was down $0.0050 at $0.8750.
