Missouri cattlemen happy about law enforcement training bill

The Missouri Cattlemen’s Association is happy about the passage of a bill in the Missouri House that requires all animal care training materials for law enforcement to be certified by the state veterinarian.  Missouri Cattlemen’s Executive Vice President Mike Deering told Brownfield earlier this year that the Humane Society of the United States and other activist groups are training police on how to identify animal abuse.

“This extremist group has no business training law enforcement agencies on animal abuse and neglect when their sole mission is to put farmers and ranchers out of business,” Deering told Brownfield Ag News.

The legislation now moves to the Missouri Senate for consideration. Nearly identical legislation was filed by Senator Brian Munzlinger.
